Another great variation on this theme… to close to the truth.

We’re starting to see this happen here in Vancouver.

How The Dems Would Solve The Auto Crisis

November 25th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Economy

Honda, Toyota

This is a sign of what these idiots are bringing to the table…

from MSNBC

One advantage the Honda and Hyundai plants in Alabama have over the General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford plants in Michigan is lower labor costs. That’s because, in part, auto workers in Michigan are represented by the UAW and workers in Alabama aren’t.

This cost differential has been a theme of the debate this week in Congress over whether taxpayers should subsidize GM, Ford and Chrysler.

But what if the UAW could more easily organize workers at Honda and Hyundai? UAW-represented workers at Honda and Hyundai could then bargain for higher wages.

The Employee Free Choice Act, passed by the House of Representatives last year, but stymied in the Senate, aims to make unionization easier by allowing workers to join a union by signing a card rather than by going through a secret-ballot election. The bill is called “card check” for short.

It’s undemocratic and leads to obvious intimidation… something the Democrats are all for.

So the solution is to raise the costs of well-run businesses to save the ones that shouldn’t be in business?

Google Cuts

Google Layoffs: 10,000 Jobs Being Cut, Report Claims

from PC World

Up to 10,000 Google jobs could be on the way out, with smaller scale layoffs already underway.

Quiet Cutbacks

“Hundreds” of employees have been let go in the past few months, the company’s sources claim — and, they say, a loophole has allowed Google to keep quiet about the cutbacks.

The trick, WebGuild reports, all comes down to categories: Google classifies about 10,000 of its workers as “temporary operational expenses,” which means their positions are not official and could be eliminated without public notification. (Google officially reports having just over 20,000 full-fledged employees on staff. The additional 10,000 “temporary” positions speculated would bring the actual total to 30,000.)

“Google has hundreds of lawyers figuring out how not to get caught,” WebGuild President Daya Baran suggests. “One of them is by moving workers from job to job every few months so that their status remains temporary. That is why you probably have never spoken to the same person twice at Google and that is also why there is somebody new on the job and most times you know more about their job than they do,” he says.

When Google starts chopping you know it’s time to hunker down…

How To Really Make History

November 25th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Oddities

The Democrats all are frothing to get Barry in the White House, NOW!

If Bush had a sense of humor, he’d do something like this:

Bush should resign now.

Then Dick Cheney becomes President (that would really P**S OFF the libs)!

Then he appoints Condoleeza Rice as VP.

Then Cheney resigns two weeks later and Condoleeza Rice,
a Republican, becomes the first BLACK+ WOMAN President!!!

Spamming Facebook Costs $873 Million

November 24th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Tech Goodies

Facebook Spam

Hooray for Facebook!

Now can you get those people to quit “Super Poking” me?

From The Montreal Gazette

Facebook won a U.S. court ruling against a Montreal spammer – who was ordered to pay $873 million dollars for sending unwanted messages to users.

Adam Guerbuez and his company Atlantis Blue Capital were ordered to pay $436.2 million dollars in statutory damages and another $436.2 million dollars in aggravated statutory damages for violations of CAN-SPAM.

Facebook began legal action against Guerbuez in August, claiming he had managed to obtain the passwords of Facebook users and was bombarding them with millions of messages about sexual products and drugs.

Judge Fogel also permanently barred Guerbuez, who lives in Montreal, and Atlantis Blue Capital from any future contact with Facebook.

“Does Facebook expect to quickly collect $873 million dollars and share the proceeds in some way with our users?” asked Kelley in a posting on the Facebook blog. “Alas, no. It’s unlikely that Guerbuez and Atlantis Blue Capital could ever honor the judgment rendered against them.”

“But we are confident that this award represents a powerful deterrent to anyone and everyone who would seek to abuse Facebook and its users,” he added.

Hannity Minus Colmes

November 24th, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in activists

sean hannity

After being the token Liberal on Hannity and Colmes for 12 years, Alan Colmes has decided to move on.

Colmes said, “I approached Bill Shine (FNC’s Senior Vice President of Programming) earlier this year about wanting to move on after 12 years to develop new and challenging ways to contribute to the growth of the network. Although it’s bittersweet to leave one of the longest marriages on cable news, I’m proud that both Sean (Hannity) and I remained unharmed after sitting side by side, night after night for so many years.”

Colmes will have a presence on Fox News as a liberal commentator on a variety of FOX News programming, including Foxnews.com’s The Strategy Room and continue hosting his radio program, The Alan Colmes Show on FOX News Radio.

Hannity & Colmes is the only FNC program which has remained in the same timeslot for 12 years, catapulting to number one in 2003 and never relinquishing the top spot. The second highest-rated program in cable news behind only The O’Reilly Factor, Hannity & Colmes averaged 3.3 million viewers nightly for the Nielsen month of October and is poised to mark 60 consecutive months at number one at the end of November.

Sorry to see you go. Sean will have to search hard for another Liberal that can actually debate an issue and make any sense.
