Spectators and athletes will be encouraged to get vaccinated against the H1N1 flu before traveling to next year’s Winter Olympics in Vancouver, an official said Wednesday.

The pandemic couldn’t come at a worse time for the games. Vancouver is the hotbed right now for the virus and we’re experiencing a little Canada Health Care Chaos right now… our doctors and clinics are overwhelmed by people wanting the vaccine.

I was in China a few months ago and will never forget the people in the white suits that boarded our plane and shot a thermometer beam into our foreheads.. Fever=quarantine. Great way to start a trip.

With our luck, The Vancouver Winter games will probably time out at the height of the swine flu pandemic.

Let’s hope the vaccine works. And the publicity doesn’t scare aware our anticipated visitors. Lord knows we could use their money to pay for this event.

The Arnold Schwarzenegger Veto

Aronold Schwarzenegger veto letter

Read very carefully of what Schwarzenegger thinks of the dems… hint - read vertical.

Good to see he has a sense of humor while California sinks.

A Democratic assemblyman who heckled the governor during a recent event in San Francisco actually received two messages: the veto letter itself and a not-so-subtle rebuke creatively hidden within it.

Like a find-the-word puzzle, the second message was visible by stringing together the first letter of each line down the left-hand margin.

“My goodness. What a coincidence,” said Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear. “I suppose when you do so many vetoes, something like this is bound to happen.”

The target was San Francisco Assemblyman Tom Ammiano, who had sponsored AB1176. The bill, which passed unanimously in the Assembly and Senate, would have granted the Port of San Francisco expanded financing power to redevelop a former shipyard into a new neighborhood known as Pier 70.

The veto message came after Ammiano called the governor a liar and shouted from the audience to “kiss my gay ass” when Schwarzenegger unexpectedly showed up at a Democratic Party dinner in San Francisco on Oct. 7.

The Three McDonald’s Restaurants In Iceland Gone.

Hong Kong

From Bad to Worse:

McDonald’s Europe has announced plans to close its three restaurants in Reykjavik, Iceland, citing the country’s ongoing economic troubles and high importing costs as the cause.

The restaurant franchises, operated by Jon Ogmundsson, will close on 31 October 2009 – 15 years after Iceland opened its first McDonald’s restaurant.

Mr Ogmundsson said the decision had not been taken lightly, but because of the unreasonable operating costs which they abide by. The restaurants import ingredients from Germany, and with the falling krona, imports have been made prohibitively expensive.

He said: “It makes no sense. For a kilo of onion, imported from Germany, I’m paying the equivalent of a bottle of good whiskey.”

According to reports, meal prices would have to rise by 20% in order to make the restaurants financially viable.

Mr Ogmundsson plans to reopen the restaurants under another name using purely Icelandic goods.

Unfortunately, Iceland isn’t a great place for cows and produce. Maybe they’ll start a whale burger franchise?

I can’t say I’ve heard of McDonald’s ever closing shop due to financial hardship.

Read more on how Iceland collapsed.. and how they’ve turned to women to save them.

Here’s What 1.4 Trillion Can Buy.

Now that the US has overspent by 1.4 trillion, you’d think they’d cut back a hair.

Nope. They plan on overspending by another 1.4 trillion.

I have yet to hear the Obama government mention that words “spending cuts”. It brings new meaning to the line “Socialism is great until you run out of other peoples money”.

Time to start offering Americans Canadian Dollar bank accounts. There’s a killing to be made soon.

The US Chamber Of Commerce Under Attack

The fraud from the left gets more aggressive in the latest scam to hurt the Cahmber of Commerce. Eric Wohlschlegel confronts Hingo Sembra – a scam artist fro the Yes Men.

The press conference in Washington was supposedly headed by chamber “spokesman” Hingo Sembra and was a hoax staged by activist groups the Yes Men and BeyondTalk.net.

The joint venture received “tactical support” from the DC Climate Action Factory, an activist group sponsored by Avaaz. The Yes Men are famous for their hoaxes, usually through their impersonations of corporate executives, and BeyondTalk calls for nonviolent resistance to the drivers of climate change.

Shows how far they fgo in the name of Global Warming, and if it were real, why would you need deceptive tactics like this?

Che's Lip Balm

Came across this in the comments section in an article about Harry Reid and US healthcare… it’s about as close to fact as I’ve come across. It’s spreading across the net this month.

If a conservative doesn’t like guns, he doesn`t buy one.
If a liberal doesn’t like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn`t eat meat.
If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a conservative sees a foreign threat, he thinks about how to defeat his enemy.
A liberal wonders how to surrender gracefully and still look good.

If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a black man or Hispanic are conservative, they see themselves as independently successful.
Their liberal counterparts see themselves as victims in need of government protection.

If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a conservative doesn’t like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Liberals demand that those they don’t like be shut down.

If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn’t go to church.
A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it’s a foreign religion, of course!)

If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.

If a conservative slips and falls in a store, he gets up, laughs and is embarrassed.
If a liberal slips and falls, he grabs his neck, moans like he’s in labor and then sues.
