A new University of B.C. report on prescription drug spending reports that B.C. residents spend 25 per cent less per capita on medicine than the rest of Canada — except when it comes to prescription drugs for erectile dysfunction.
According to IMS Health Canada, which tracks prescription drug use, 242,875 prescriptions for erectile dysfunction drugs were given in B.C. last year.
The dollar value was $24.8 million.
B.C. per capita spending on erectile dysfunction drugs was 13 per cent higher than the national average.
What’s up with that?
