Bringing Home The Bacon
Not sure if we should be happy, or sad that they didn’t face the same fate as their competition…
Two more senior gang members in the Vancouver are behind bars at least until they make court appearances.
Police arrested Jonathan Bacon and his close associate Dennis Karbovanec in Port Moody on fraud and forgery-related charges.
We were warned earlier to stay away from Dennis Karbovanec.
“Both of them are Red Scorpion members, both clearly a danger to the community,” said RCMP Cpl. Peter Thiessen.
The Bacons had been on he run from their rivals- the UN Gang.
Thiessen said the charges are not gun or homicide-related at this point, but are the result of an ongoing Coquitlam RCMP serious crime investigation, in partnership with a larger joint forces investigation into gangs in the Lower Mainland.
The overnight arrests follow Tuesday’s arrest of alleged acting UN Gang leader Barzan Tilli-Choli and two other alleged gang associates on charges of attempted murder in connection with a shooting in Surrey last month.
“There’s going to be more arrests,” Thiessen said.
Or, more hits – whichever comes first.
UPDATE:
Alleged gang leader, associate out on bail after arrest on fraud charges
That didn’t take long.. nice justice system we have in BC. We can’t even keep known felons locked up for 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the CBC thinks we may be wrong in having mandatory sentencing:
The federal government has declared war on drug-dealing gang members, but the foot soldiers who prosecute that war predict the fight will bog down in the legal trenches.
Crown counsels say new mandatory minimum prison sentences for a range of drug and firearms crimes will lead to an inevitable increase in trials as the accused lose any incentive to plead guilty.
That will clog already overburdened courts and put added strain on prosecutors, especially at the federal level where the Justice Department’s Public Prosecutions Service has trouble recruiting and retaining lawyers.
(Best part) They said 70 to 90 per cent of criminal cases are resolved with guilty pleas before they go to trial, diversion to another process or charges being withdrawn.
(See above - that’s why these thugs are on the street in a few months at most… the “resolved cases usually mean a plea bargain of minimal sentence.)

I don’t think the gang members will be in prison too long, they know that the opposition parties will bail them out later on and the gang members know that. it is just a game the opposition parties are playing with the minds of canadians.
Face it, the liberals best friends are criminals and terrorist groups; they rely on these people for votes.
Look what is happening again in the HOC, the liberals are fighting for the rights of a murderer Ronald Smith to be returned to canada. A murderer, who was picked up by two american aboriginal men as good citizens were later executed execution style by Ronald SMITH. Ronald SMITH when found guilty, personally asked the judge for the death penalty-that’s right-he requested himself.
It is becoming more and more apparent that the liberals respects criminal rights more over the criminals victims rights to live. .
To show you that the liberals pretend that they care about you at the moment; why not the yesteryears when crime was just as bad? why did the liberals DID NOT RISE TO VOTE ON THE CRIME BILL when the conservative brought out the bill. Why why why- ask yourselves that question. Why now the sudden love for the security of canadians they liberals never bothered before.
Just to remind you, the liberals, ndp and the bloc never voted for the ANTI-TERRORIST ACT BILL, the excuse they gave is most shocking. Iguess for them to stand in support and safety of canada and innocent canadians are not in their radar nor ever will be. Only the prime minister and his party love this canada and you.
