Captain Kirk As Prime Minister of Canada
William Shatner is planning to make a dramatic career change and help lead his native country.
In response to a letter from a fan who urged him to put himself forward for the Governor General of Canada, Captain Kirk had this to say:
“My intention is to be Prime Minister of Canada, not Governor General, which is mainly a ceremonial position”.
“I must, with my deepest thanks, turn down your honourable intent to advance me as Governor General. Besides which, I don’t have time to be Governor General.”
Despite his busy schedule, the actor is confident he has what it takes to run the country, explaining: “As Prime Minister I can lead Canada into even greater exploits.”
Maybe he can run for Premier of BC? He’d be right at home here.

And he can make the liberals wear red shirts like the security guys in the original Star Trek – you know, the ones that always bit the dust each episode……….

Another expatriate Canadian who’s written a lot of books and is egotistical enough to think he can lead us to a better life! Well, come to think of it, that about sums up Iggy’s qualifications doesn’t it?
So just what can Shatner offer us that Iggy can’t?
Woo Hoo! Good-bye to the iconic red-serge clad Mounties, hello to mini-skirts and bee-hive hairdos!

I think we have to be careful in choosing our leaders. Captain Kirk, well… Don’t know shatner personally, but judging by the way he enjoys his character on Boston Legal I would sooner vote for Ugly Betty if it had to be an actor.
