This embarrassment to Canada get’s picked up at the Guardian… and is smitten by George Moonbat.

It’s embarrassing to be Canadian now

George Monbiot is right – Canada has become a corrupt petro-state most of us are ashamed of. But all is not lost

George Monbiot wrote a real

Brilliant! Just what smug Canada needs, a real seeing-to by an environmental wise man.  Monbiot, a hero of mine…

It is the decline of a democracy (partly as its media died, thank you Conrad Black) and the descent of a nation into a political stasis, and it could happen to any country that doesn’t mind the political store. What takes place when a nation can’t decide on a government and lets a rightwing minority, quivering with hate, have just enough power?

Catastrophe, that’s what.

Quivering with hate? Sounds like she described herself well.

The heading should read “it’s embarrassing to be a Mallick now”

One of the gems:

Heather, this article appears to be a further attempt to ingratiate yourself beyond the soporific confines of Canada. Do you really think your breathless schoolgirl hero worship of Monbiot is the way to gatecrash the bon pensants of the Guardian? They will smile indulgently and patronisingly or they will laugh. Here is another Canadian trying to foist their self absorbed and self loathing insecurities beyond their borders. Here is a tip – they don`t know Canada, they don`t care! As for Canadian writers dissing their country in the selfish hope of joining the big boys club? How boring, how conventional!

Even George Monbiot has declared, “It’s no use pretending this isn’t a major blow…. I believe that the head of the unit, Phil Jones, should now resign.”
