I’m All For It If Peter Yarrow Is Mad

December 29th, 2008 Posted in activists

Seems that the new video of The Great One has set off a few sparks – from both left and right wing pundits.

Even the child molester Peter Yarrow (song’s author) is indignant over the use of his song.

From his article:

What might have been wearily accepted as “the way it was” in the campaign, is now unacceptable. Obama is not a candidate. He is the President-Elect, and this song insults the office of the Presidency, the people who voted for him, as well as those who did not — and taking a children’s song and twisting it in such vulgar, mean-spirited way, is a slur to our entire country and our common agreement to move beyond racism.

Funny how the office of the Presidency suddenly can’t be insulted after 8 years of the moonbat Bush Derangement Syndrome. This hardly compares.

We also get to see how a video has more power to ignite the left than their very own newspapers.. the saying started at the LA Times awhile back, with absolutely no response.

Barack Obama, the junior Democratic senator from Illinois, is running for president. Since making his announcement, there has been no end of commentary about him in all quarters — musing over his charisma and the prospect he offers of being the first African American to be elected to the White House.

But it’s clear that Obama also is running for an equally important unelected office, in the province of the popular imagination — the “Magic Negro.”

As might be expected, this figure is chiefly cinematic — embodied by such noted performers as Sidney Poitier, Morgan Freeman, Scatman Crothers, Michael Clarke Duncan, Will Smith and, most recently, Don Cheadle. And that’s not to mention a certain basketball player whose very nickname is “Magic.”

So for anyone that has missed the amusing piece, here it is… from Al Sharpton’s perspective.

I find that comment far more offensive.

Like you said, 8 YEARS of these creeps accusing Bush of being everything short of a child molester and numerous online “games” at the current Presidents expense.

I promise to treat Obama with EXACTLY the same respect these leftist wackos showed President Bush!
