Is The Media Really That Biased?

Welcome To The Harper Derangement Syndrome.
Search Google news for Stephen Harper and you’ll see exactly how biased the media is against him.
The top of the Goggle results start with this quote:
“Last night, Stephane, you panicked,” … “Your platform says we will spend billions of dollars we don’t have and go into deficit. (You) will raise taxes that will kill jobs”
Keep in mind that most people don’t read the story – just the headlines…
The media is actively campaigning against the Conservatives and Harper – giving the equivalent of millions of dollars of advertising to the other parties.
I expect this in Vancouver where we have two newspapers owned by the same company… but you’d think that there would be one newspaper in Canada that isn’t far left.
Which leads me to question:
What are the papers in Canada so afraid of that they would compromise their integrity this way?
Isn’t the media supposed to balance coverage of the parties?
The papers are partisan hacks, and lack the balls to objectively look at what’s best for the country.
The NDP will crush the economy, the Liberals would return Canada to cronyism while holding us back through socialism, and the Green Party would take us back a century.
The Conservatives will move Canada forward globally, get government out of legislating behavior, and open Canada for business… I don’t see that as a bad thing.
Or, is it because Harper is from the west?

“Or, is it because Harper is from the west?:
Yes, it is.
Over the next 10 days the media is going to be actively campaigning against Steven Harper.
It is up to Conservative supporters to try to counter this.
Write editors, write the CRTC – challenge the media to be fair and balanced by showing their biased headlines and nuanced comments in plain sight.
First example of the underhanded, a picture is worth a thousand words = the Toronto Star using a photo where Harper has his back turned. What – there were no other photos?????
Come on Star – you can’t seriously think that that is the ONLY photo you have on hand. You did this for a purpose and that purpose shows your blatant bias.

Alberta Girl – you are 100% right. I immediately upon seeing that picture sent off an email to Tonya McCharles – and after reading your suggestion, I picked up the telephone and called the The Star’s Newroom at 416-869-4300. I told them I thought it was a disgrace that picture of Harper walking away from that group. I told them a lot of times people do not read the article – but pictures such as that says 1000 words. I also told them we have to listen to Tonya McCharles pushing her liberal agenda down our throats on Mike Duffy Live, etc. but for her to put this kind of picture on the front page of The STar was an outright disgrace. I said there were Canadians out there who supported another party besides Tonya’s liberals and I thought it was reporters jobs to report the facts and we could make up our minds. I also told her, I watched that debate… I know when that pictures was taken but also know Mr. Harper was with that crowd, they were just to break up the photo op and I felt that picture should be changed. Let’s get on this – and not take this liberal bias reporting any more….
