Messages From The Canadian Troops In Afghanistan

Sgt K.R. Gardy, TFK ASCC

Thank you to all who have taken the time to put in a note to the soldiers and the Veterans.  It is nice to hear praise, thanks, best wishes, hopes for safe returns and various other sentiments that have been posted.  It is nice to know that Canadians appreciated our efforts in all of the Canadian missions and that we still remember our losses of those who accomplished so much in the past.  While I was going through several pages, I even found a note from a person who was not Canadian; but they still had a similar message for the soldiers.  It is nice to see support for our troops from other countries as well. It was also great to see the variety of age groups of people who posted notes.  From young, to middle-aged to aged, it makes the time spent away from home, family and friends easier to endure when you know you are supported by the people of your country.

Capt S.M.I. Dumouchel-Connock, TFK Public Affairs Plans, TFK HQ

Thanks so much to all the Canadians who have written such warm and supportive messages. They are very much appreciated. I’m with Joint Task Force Afghanistan HQ in Kandahar, and we’ve been deployed for nearly seven months now. Despite the fact that the days are long and the work is often hard on our morale, we see more progress and reconstruction every day here in Kandahar province, and the daily life of the Afghans is gradually improving. We are proud to be here to help the Afghans: we are proud to be representatives of our wonderful country, Canada!
