Oops: 3rd Quarter GDP up 1.3%
The Canadian economy grew by 1.3% in the third quarter as economic activity recovered in September from a decline in August, Statistics Canada said on Monday.
Corporate profits kept up their “robust” pace from the second quarter, increasing 5.7% for the largest back-to-back growth in quarterly earnings since 2004, StatsCan. Manufacturing output even managed to edge up.
“The instability of world financial markets did not appear to have a significant impact on funds borrowed” by Canadian businesses in the quarter, although household borrowing slowed.
Maybe that $1 trillion plus the Americans are throwing at the crisis is making its way north?
I’d call it a stimulus.
Although the opposition parties are trying their best to make it stop.
Another sign: Canada already awash in stimulus
