Bill visited Vancouver today.

Clinton had polite compliments for local politicians, praising Vancouver Mayor Sam Sullivan’s for his city’s record on sustainable building and alluding to B.C. Premier Gordon Campbell’s environmental policies.

“I know he’s taken some heat for his aggressive position against climate change,” Clinton said. “I believe it’ll be the greatest economic generator you could embrace.”

I guess he missed East Hastings on his way in and confirmed my suspicions… global warming scare mongering + carbon tax=$$$.

OMG: The Liberals Hidden Agenda

Now that he’s found out that the sun is behind global warming, Dion has walked away from the Liberal party’s only platform this election - The Green Shift Shaft. He’s even denying it was part of his campaign.

I had to laugh when the guardian of the left, the Globe & mail published this today..

When launching his carbon-tax scheme on June 19, Mr. Dion mentioned the term “Green Shift” 14 times. When Mr. Dion delivered a keynote speech to his caucus on Sept. 3, the number of Green Shift references had dropped to 10. By Sept. 11, Mr. Dion only mentioned Green Shift once during his main speech of the day. And by Sept. 18, the term “green shift” had disappeared completely from Mr. Dion’s only speech of the day.

Earlier today when quizzed about whether or not the carbon tax was a major part of his election platform, Mr. Dion replied, “You have said it was but never me.”

… So what has happened to Mr. Dion, defined by Liberals as a man of vision and courage for bringing the carbon tax forward? Was this a bit like Kyoto for him, not his dog but the treaty – when the hard work had to be done he gave up on it and it began to dwindle? Was the green shift luggage lost when the plane broke down earlier in the week?

Time to jump off the Rainbow warrior…

Now there’s a real hidden agenda to talk about.

What a gift to Harper.

Global Warming Thought of the Day

“Mars is being hit by rapid climate change and it is happening so fast that the red planet could lose its southern ice cap, writes Jonathan Leake.

Scientists from Nasa say that Mars has warmed by about 0.5C since the 1970s. This is similar to the warming experienced on Earth over approximately the same period.

Since there is no known life on Mars it suggests rapid changes in planetary climates could be natural phenomena.”

Doesn’t Frozen Water Expand?

The Vancouver Sun did an article on how we are all going to drown soon… forgot to mention when.

Got me thinking…

- If the icebergs all melt - and 90% of it is under water - wouldn’t sea levels actually decline?

- What is the agenda for scaring people about rising sea levels?

- If global warming has begun, why is it so damn cold here? Let’s let it go for another few degrees.

- anyone care to look at the increasing ice at the south pole?

I’m a skeptic mainly because David Suzuki scared the hell out of me in grade three - life on earth was supposed to be ended by now. 40 years later, the air is cleaner, we have more trees and life is good.

May be a good time to buy some waterfront property soon.

Global Warming Accelerating Because of Plasma, LCDs

A gas used in the making of flat screen televisions, nitrogen trifluoride (NF3), is being blamed for damaging the atmosphere and accelerating global warming.

They overlooked NF3 in the Kyoto protocol as it was only produced in tiny amounts when the treaty was signed in 1997. The gas is estimated to be 17,000 times as powerful as carbon dioxide.

Professor Michael Prather from the University of California told ABC’s The World Today program that output of the gas needs to be measured.

“One of my titles for this paper was Going Below Kyoto’s Radar. It’s the kind of gas that’s made in huge amounts,” he said.

“Not only is it not in the Kyoto Treaty but you don’t even have to report it. That’s the part that worries me.”

He estimates 4,000 tons of NF3 will be produced in 2008 and that number is likely to double next year.

“We don’t know what’s emitted, but what they’re producing every year dwarfs these giant coal-fired power plants that are like the biggest in the world,” he said.

“And it dwarfs two of the Kyoto gases. So the real question we don’t know is how much is escaping and getting out.”

Ooops.. just bought one. Can’t win.

Carbon Tax Day -

July 1st, 2008 | 2 Comments | Posted in Oddities

SURPRISE!!!

The carbon tax hit the pumps today and gas went from 148.9 to 152.9…

So much for a 2.4 cent tax. Mark-up?

July 1 will go down in history as a the day that global warming was conquered - thanks to tax.

What a crock.

I keep looking for an answer to my question:

How does taking money from the consumer stop global warming. Or better yet, just where does the carbon credit money really go?

You’re living through one of the greatest rip-offs of all time, in the name of Al Gore.

Speak up folks, these people are out to make you a lot poorer in the name of a questionable cause.
