Now thanks to our friendly courts’ catch and release program, we now have 12 RCMP officers babysitting Red Scorpion Jonathon Bacon and his buddy Dennis Karovanec 24 hours a day.

Despite being arrested last week on fraud charges, the two were released immediately.

An now Port Moody is spending a small fortune to keep them from getting whacked.

Since May, when the Bacon’s were targeted by rivals for death, the Abbotsford police have spent spend tens of thousands of dollars following the Bacons.

“In all, the APD has conducted more than 250 patrols and over 100 curfew checks on the brothers at their home,” Const. Casey Vinett said.

Costs include $30,000 for surveillance cameras installed last fall, and police overtime costs of nearly $40,000. Now Port Moody is facing the same type of bill.

You’d think there was a parole violation somewhere in their background that would allow them to keep these two goofs locked up. Let’s see, they’ve been charged with concealed weapons, silencers, drugs, and so on…

“Our job is first and foremost the well-being of the public…. we will never  compromise when it comes to public safety” says Bill Kim of the Port Moody Police department.

Nice. Two guys that represent the number 1 threat to public safety are now being protected.

Let’s hope the RCMP take a well-timed donut break. It would save us a small fortune.
