Error allows Bacon brother to skip court appearance
There was supposed to be another Bacon brother court appearance in Port Coquitlam today.
The Integrated Gang Task Force was here, the media showed up and the Crown was represented.
But Jonathan Bacon and his lawyer were nowhere to be found.
A bureaucratic error meant that a form was not filed with the court allowing Bacon’s lawyer Ken Westlake to appear on his behalf.
After provincial judge Pedro de Couto adjourned for half an hour so prosecutor Teresa Mitchell-Banks could call around, the mistake was explained in court and the fraud case against Bacon put over until May 20.
Also ordered to appear on that date was Bacon associate Dennis Karbovanec, who is co-accused in the fraud case.
Mark me down as worried…
Meanwhile, another gangsta down.. 31 so far this year. Sorry for cheering, but it seems to be much more effective than our court system.
