Windows 7 Spectacular

If you are still on the fence about the upgrade to Windows 7, this video should help you make up your mind.
In typical Microsoft fashion, the launch of Windows 7 was… well…
P.S. My Mac hasn’t been rebooted for 164 days.

Tried the iMac for four months. During that time I had it in my home for two months. The rest of the time it was back in their shop for servicing for non-mechanical (read application)problems. The only person who would touch it was the salesman who sold it to me and he screwed it up worse than ever. (All my attempts at logging on to my usual sites where I had to enter a password were greeted with a message me that the thing was sending out a signal telling the sites that this was a corrupt machine.) No tech help. No online help. After four months I took a $400 loss on it just to get rid of that piece of junk. Every time I put an Apple application on my computer, I end up having to reinstall my O/S just to get the crap out of the system because even though I think I have wiped it all it keeps popping up sales pitches from Apple. No thanks!

“My Mac hasn’t been rebooted for 164 days.”
Ditto. It’s been at least as long since I’ve had to restart my Mac for any reason, and I haven’t had a single crash in two years.
Powell Lucas:
It sounds to me like your issue was with an incompetent salesperson, not Apple. Apple’s online support is the by far the best in the business.

I as well have a new IMAC (6 months old). A learning curve from the old “puter” but nary a problem to date.
Had placed a call with the help line with a conceived problem I had and made an appointment for them to call me back. It wasn’t 20 minutes I received the call from a very knowledgeable individual who talked me through the procedure. (my bad – it was finger-problems}.
I have no regrets with the switch, as it is a single slender unit with wireless printer, mouse and keyboard and no messy wiring all over the floor.
Reboot? Not happening here, and the regular updates are almost non-existent.
I have no trouble recommending this unit to my other friends and some have switched as well. As with all things, hands-on and familiarization come to the forefront.
Classify me as a very satisfied IMAC customer. A tad more expensive, but a whole lot more satisfaction with what I deem a superior product.
You got to believe!

Got a 8 year old blueberry mac laptop from eBay 2 years ago for my online banking. It had os9. I loaded Panther to see what wouldhappen (at the time panther was the next to latest OS for mac). It ran without problems! That old mac is still alive and kicking, my dad uses it now. Since then I have purchased an iMac and an iBook. They have likewise performed flawlessly.
I am a very happy mac owner and user. As are all the people I know that have them.
Regarding the old laptop that my dad now has; I’d love to see what would happen if I took an 8 year old IBM laptop and tried to load Vista. If you want to tinker and fix your computer all the time then by all means get a PC. If you are like me and simply want stuff to work you’re best to get a mac.

I wont overpay just to have an apple logo on my computer. Having said that, I don’t do windows either.
If you want a great system at a great price (i.e. free) use Unix/Linux/ubuntu.
